Hawke Sport HD 3x9x40 mildot
Bought this to go on a springer airgun after talking to several people about the warranty and customer service. Why?, because I just knew it would take a dump after awhile. Surprise, it didn't. Optics are clear, it goes where you adjust it and has handled the recoil just fine. Still have issues with mounts but the scope is working the way it should.
Pros: Functions well with Airgun recoil
Cons: slotted turret adjustments
Hawke 3-9x40 Rifle Scope
I was a little skeptical of buying this scope as I was not familiar with the name. I am very pleased with the scope and would hesitate to buy another when I am an need of one. The optics are very clear and I really like the adjustable objective. In comparing this to another well known named scope I would choose this one. This is a very nice scope.

I do not doubt Hawke scopes are excellent. However, my personal experience with two of them has been negative. Neither will hold zero after a week of usage. I would sight it in on one target and when I moved to the next one it will star shooting erratically. I would sight it in again and got the same results. I tried everything, new and stronger rings, optically center the scope. I cleaned my Umarex Octane .22 cal. I starting doubting the gun and had a trigger job done to it. Same result, then I started doubting myself so I had some friend verify my experience with the same results. In conclusion, in my opinion, Hawke scopes have a long way to go when it comes to gas piston air rifles.

Optics not super clear, it gets in focus but just doesn't have crisp, contrasty views. I am an astronomer and have many scopes. This rifle scope just doesn't have great contrast. Even though it comes to focus the image is slightly hazy. The AO part works well, it also has a good range of pwrs..3-9x. Price was good.
Pros: variable pwr, mil dot, not too heavy.
