Most Helpful Positive Review German Quality at it's Best
Who would have thought that Magpul and Lancer would have any competition at all? Certainly not me, but the price point made this the obvious choice for my PRS rifle. Competition rules state that 10 round magazines are required and Hera clearly fits the bill. But will they hold up to this kind of ab...

Most Helpful Negative Review Jams-A-Lot Beware
Tough to load (have to really slam it. Tried about 200 rnds of PMC 5.56 - Hera's keep on jamming, Magpull works flawlesly. Maybe good with SOME lowers, not with mine though. Will have to sell them (threw the packaging). Other than that - looks good, thick plastic and is compact.

The plain Jane

by colcam, from GA, United States Written on February 19, 2020
AS is with the FDE/tan mag, it is slightly thicker feed lips so it flexes less with temperature changes, and the thicker lips mean it is more adaptable to alternative rounds use, like 300 Blackout or 458 Socom. When used prone for 5.56 the shorter body means you can get lower on hard ground than with longer mags. I recommend color code to keep various types of ammunition separate and being available in several colors helps, as would wrapping a colored tape around it or painting a band on it to help keep them apart, but for me the black is long range 5.56 ball, and this is just small enough to tuck in a shirt pocket, too.
Pros:
  • stong
Cons:
  • harder to clean
Best Used for:
  • long range prone work
