Good shooter, very good value
I ordered 5HU-ATB-REM140-76239C16MED416RB10 which was described as being an AR15 barrel in 7.62x39 caliber, 16", in stainless with stainless finish. What I received was a barrel with a black finish covering the entire barrel and barrel extension. My guess is that what I actually received was nitride over a 4150V barrel. For this slip-up I docked this purchase 1 star. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
I inspected all parts of the barrel and extension externally and internally with a bore scope. The quality looked good overall. The outside was typical of AR barrels - somewhat roughly turned but nothing to complain about. It had a good clean crown. The throat and leade were nicely machined, and the same for the barrel extension. I gave it a very light lapping out of habit, which polished it slightly. Then thoroughly cleaned, oiled the exterior and mounted it into an Aero upper with Atlas R-One handguard. I put a thread protector on the end. These have boxer primers in a brass case, and happened to be on sale. My only testing so far has been 20 rounds at 25 yards. My first shot was off the paper! So _then_ I bore sighted it. Next three shots were a .45" gro...
