Not cut for an RMR

Let's start with the pros. Very accurate, flat shooting, nice overall. Cons: not actually milled for an RMR footprint, need an adapter plate. I was mildly annoyed but not a deal breaker. You need an adapter plate for any optic. That said, it's a great product. Would recommend.

  • comp shooting
  • EDC if you're the right shape

You can never go wrong with HK...the vp9l slide is so well balanced. The extra weight upfront is just what I needed to keep my gun running even flatter when shooting fast! Optics planet is the best!!

HK VP9 Long Slide conversion

I've been wanting to convert my 4" VP9 to a 5" for a long time and finally got one but even better better it comes ready to mount an optic where the older slides didn't. This makes the gun and me a lot more accurate at the range. I mounted a Holosun SCS on it and the package allows me to put alot more in the center of the target.
Pros:
  • Looks cool, more accurate, higher bullet velocity
Cons:
  • A little more weight, less concealable, tall sights might be a problem for some
Best Used for:
  • Competition, defense, target shooting

Fun toy, not as good as just getting a real long slide gun.

I was siked when these first came out. However the vp9 seems to have run it's course and it's not that great of a gun. I probably would have been better off buying a different long slide gun. Or if I was to do it all over again, just a usp expert.

Why bother VP9L-OR?

1st. Get right one. Slide only or Complete (slide, barrel, spring, striker) kit. If own the VP9L and want optic- yes on slide. If own a VP9 (no optics cut), OR Kit is good replacememt. Install of Optic is biggest help to more accurate shooting.

Works great

Arrived quickly and came with everything it should have. Went and tested it out and it runs well. Just need to add a rmr! The iron sights took a little while to get used to but were fairly accurate. I like that it came with a baggie of o rings just in case the seal gets loose

Great slide but doesn’t have a tritium front sight as described

Slide arrived super fast. Looks great and has suppressor height sights.

The info states this: Suppressor height sights. Black serrated rear and high contrast tritium front sight.

Mine just has a high contrast non-tritium front sight. Not a deal breaker but if you advertise it as tritium, it needs to actually be tritium.

VP9 Long slide OR

PERFECT upgrade to the standard VP9 I've owned for years. Turned my EDC into a race gun with on swap. You feel the quality of the product right away. Tight lock ups and beautiful sights. You're basically buying a whole new gun for a 3rd of the price.

Good Price on Optic Ready Slide

I have considered this slide as an option for my HK VP 9 for some time. Optics Planet had a better price than most and their Labor Day sale made it even more attractive. I love that the package so easy to install. Simply remove your old slide/barrel assembly and replace with the new optic ready long slide assembly. The fact that the slide assembly comes with tall sights for use as a backup with any optic installed is also a plus. Very pleased with my purchase.
