Most Helpful Positive Review Well Made and comfortable.
I replaced my Magpul stock with this one because it's rubber molded which makes it a little more comfortable to shoot with. I use a 1 point sling with a QD and this stock has a spot built in for QD which is a great feature for me.

VR80 Buttstock from Hogue

by VR80UPGRADE, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on February 9, 2026
I ordered this to replace the factory Rock Island Armory VR80 buttstock. You will also need a reg AR pistol grip to go with this.
You need this commercial tube size for VR80, mil-spec is too small, this one even fits a little tight (should get better with use).

Just moved from Jersey to Florida and decided to modify my VR 80 to make it the way God intended! Contacted optics, planet presale support, and they were awesome. Told me exactly what I would need pick this up with the matching grip quick easy install fits me like a glove. Have used HOGUE grips on my Glocks for years love them too Also picked up some ammo with a great price. This is my new go to online store.

Looks great

by Taz, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on January 10, 2025
This one doesn't go on like most where you just pull the lever down and slide it on, I had to use a screwdriver to open it up more. Once it was on it works great, just a little tight but I really like the feel of Hogue anything, very pleased. Also don't do what I did and order the mil spec if yours is commercial, it will not fit. I had to return the mil spec one I bought from another company. Optics Planet had this one in stock and it fits.
Pros:
  • Looks great
Cons:
  • A little Tricky to install, needed a regular screwdriver to open it up more and then slide it on.
  • Tricky to install, need a regular screwdriver to open it up more and slide it on
Best Used for:
  • AR15
