Hogue gillie green over molded stock
I wasn't happy with my first purchase, so I returned it way out of the allotted time give. Customer service was exceptional and understood my situation! I would recommend this product to everyone, in fact some of my close friends have already purchased the Hogue stock.
Not very stiff
I bought one but drilled out my other 10/22 OEM stock with a drum sander for a Bull Barrell and saved $80. These are not very stiff if you plan on using a bipod the rubber stock moves and the grip comb is oddly angled for me.
Pros:
- Works in a pinch easy to find
Cons:
- none really if you need a replacement
Would recommend: No
Nice stock, tacky
Very nice stock. Drop in install. Not that green, more of a grey color. Looks and feels great! Kind of tacky might get caught on hunting clothes?
Pros:
- Looks great
Cons:
- tacky
Best Used for:
- hunting

Excellent upgrade!
I bought this for my wife’s all black, box stock 10/22 and it turned out awesome. Paired well with the bull barrel I also purchased. Great quality and and great price.

Hogue 10/22 overmolded stock, .920 barrel
Bought on sale, so the price was an excellent buy. Gun fits well, easy to install.

Great choice
I've had a few Hogue overmolded stocks, specifically for custom 10-22 builds. They are very solid platforms and the tacky texture is perfect for me. I appreciate the color choices. The rifles I have these on are real tack drivers so I assume that the stock contributes to that trait. Optics Planet has great prices and super fast well packaged shipping. I will continue to buy from them.
Pros:
- feel, color choices and fit
Cons:
- None that I can think of
Best Used for:
- sport shooting

hogue overmounded 10/22 stock
A wonderful product that fits well and is superbly made. Hogue has designed this stock ingeniously, allowing for the minor adjustments that the owner may wish to make. The stock is easy to install and it is fairly priced.

Decent Product for the Investment
I have used at least five of these over-molded Hogue rifle stocks on a trio of different platforms in recent years, including two Rem 700 SPS, a Mini-14 and this is the second Ruger 10/22 Target model. The main reason for subtracting one star is the penchant for these stocks to be too flexible when you lean the forearm onto something hard, allowing the stock to come into contact with the barrel. This flaw defeats the purpose of the "free float barrel" concept and compromises repeatable accuracy. For the $75-$85 that you will get these Hogue stocks for online, it is what it is...this is not a $500 Choate, A/I or Bell & Carlson stock that are totally rigid and built from skeletonized aluminum frames, which are then over-molded with thick rubber material. The Hogue features a very flexible plastic internal frame. On a Ruger 10/22 target model, it's no big deal. On a Rem 700 sniper rifle, it's a much bigger deal and I went with the better, more expensive stocks on these.
The standard Ruger laminated wood stock that came with my 10/22 Target Match rifle had a hiccup after the second time out and lost its grip on the rear of the receiver, free-floating both the barrel and the action as they randomly pivoted on the single stock bolt. This obviously was not great for consistent hits downrange. The Hogue stock solved this problem nicely, and as long as I don't put too much pressure on the forend, the Ruger Target's free float bull barrel should give me excellent accuracy.

Pros:
- Reasonable price and very good quality. Perfit fit right out of the box.
Cons:
- Stock is flexible and will compromise accuracy if it hits the barrel

Hogue overmold 10-22 stock
This is one really great stock--everything assembled easily and the fit was nearly perfect--the coloring is evenly applied and really makes a sharp looking rifle--anyone looking to improve their 10-22 should begin by considering a Hogue stock
