Battery issues - Hogue 1911 Laser Enhanced Grip

I bought this to use on my Les Baer Premier II 1911.
Pros:
* It fits without any modification (Easy to install).
* The finish is very good.
* It works with ambidextrous thumb safety. There are many laser grips that will not.
* The batteries are stored on the left side and the laser is on the right side, so you can replace the batteries without losing zero.
* The green laser is more visible than the red (in day light).
* It came with 4 batteries and a tiny hex wrench (to adjust the zero).
Cons:
* It uses 4 batteries and they are not cheap (compared to other batteries).
* The tiny hex wrench is hard to use and very specific. Don't lose it!
* Two batteries came dead.
* I bought 4 new batteries and they were dead before I finished zeroing the laser. As a result, the laser would turn on at full power and a few seconds later it would dim to nothing. I probably shot less than 30 rounds while zeroing.
* You can program what the laser will do when activated. The program is confusing and I was never sure if it was doing what I wanted. It would be enough if we could simply choose the laser intensity.
* Hogue support was great, they sent me a RMA and I returned it the next day to be fixed. It has been 15 days and they are still working on it :(.
* On a sunny day, it is very hard to see the dot at 25 yards.
* It came with a tiny switch at the bottom of the grip. The switch is useless. It probably was used to turn the laser off, but now you can do that by using the program button. Now the switch is like an appendix.
Other thoughts:
I gave it one star so far, basically because if the batteries cannot last long enough to finish zeroing it, I will not be able to trust that it will work when I need it, which is a BIG issue. Also, 15 days or more to fix it... it seems like they are having a production problem.
After changing the laser intensity to less, every time that the laser is activated there is a continuous buzz (in a frequency that is really hard to hear), which I believe that is the source of the battery depletion problem. Of course I was not able to hear that while I was at the shooting range, only at night with no noise around.
