I really like this product. But this is NOT a stand alone handguard for you AR. This must be used with one of Hogue's carbine or mid length AR handguards. This extension attaches to your rifle first, then you attach one of Hogue's carbine or mid length handguard. This pushes the gripping surface area of your carbine or mid length handguard way forward. I like it. I have a mid length handguard from Hogue that is overmolded. So now the overmolded area is really far forward and a lot more comfortable for me.

There is a down side to this set up. All the attachments that come with this handguard extension are not pushed forward...they can only be placed to the furthest end of this extension. Not the end of the world, and better than nothing. I just prefer to have the ability to push the attachments as far forward as possible, too. But I knew this was going to be the case when I got this, so no surprise and no disappointment. I still like it.

I think it's rock solid stable, and very high quality.

Oh, and some folks may find this item overly expensive. I'm not sure.

Good quality, but very hard to time bolt hole for rails where you want them. Wrench to install is hard to use and instructions on how to use it are not included, but are on Hogue's website. Very sturdy and has nice machine work. Straight rail pieces are metal, the rest are polymer.
