Most Helpful Positive Review Nice inexpensive grip
This made shoot my 29 a lot more comfortable than the wood grips. They are grippy and easily held onto. Fit and finish were very good. The grips installed easily. Once the wood grips were removed just slip the u-clip onto the pegs and the bottom of the handle. Slide grip up. This part took a little time to get right. And tighten the screw on the bottom. It would be nice if the grip screwed on like the wood ones.

Hogue Grip

by Chuck, from SC, United States Written on August 15, 2019
Bought it for my S&W 629 because the factory wood stocks did not give me a secure grip. The Hogue Monogrip let me hold the revolver with no slippage. Installation was a bit difficult but certainly not difficult to give a bad review. I plan to buy another set for my S&W 686.

I bought this for my S&W 629. Great fit and excellent grip and let's me control the kick with the heavy magnum loads. This grip makes a huge difference from the factory wood grips and really enables me to stay on target for follow up shots.

great addition to a great weapon

by sel1005, from FL, United States Written on December 29, 2016
have owned my smith for a very long time, but only fired it a few times a year. the original wood grips were OK, but it just "never felt good to shoot". some guns just seem to fit your hand, and others, well, you can hold on to them to use them. this grip changed that, now its fun to shoot. combined with a trigger job, my accuracy has improved dramatically and I can shoot a couple of boxes of full power 357 without tiring. wish I had bought this grip years ago!
Pros:
  • easy installation
  • inexpensive solution that you will love
  • improves your grip and accuracy
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • someone that wants to shoot more comfortably
  • improving safety and ease of use

Best Grip for a 629 44 Magnum

by HiTech Redneck, from IN, United States Written on November 3, 2013
I put Hogue Rubber Grips on all of my revolvers because they work so well. It is way better than the original wood grips. These grips allow for better control of the handgun and also a reduction in the felt recoil.
Pros: Easy to install, allows for better grip, easier to control handgun
Cons: Nothing
