Been wanting to start a Ruger 10/22 Takedown project. Started with the stock, has a nice feel to it, easy to install. Installing this stock will require to run optic, as cheek raise will make you sights out of picture
Pros:
- Easy install, comfortable feel
Cons:
- No more iron sights as co witness

I went with the ghillie green stock. The fit and feel of the stock are awesome. I paired it with the primary arms ACSS 22lr reticle. I’m very happy with this set up on the Takedown. Compact, easy to control, and looks great!

First of all the material feels great. The weight is perfect (light). The receiver fit the stock perfectly w/o having to make any adjustments. The only problem is that the forearm is very loose. If you connect a sling the forend will pull away from the barrel. The reason for this is because the hogue stock does NOT use a barrel band like the factory stock. I like the stock so much, I simply put a zip tie on the forend to take the place of a barrel band. Doesn't look very attractive but it solved the problem.

This stock is a great replacement for the factory stock. It's easy to install, feels great, and adds float to the barrel. One thing I noticed that wasn't mentioned is that the check rest is higher than the stock, so you won't be able to use the iron sights. In addition, if you wear over-the-ear hearing protection, it will get in the way. I even using the low-profile Howard Leight Impacts. Good thing I had some in-ears at the range as a back up.
Pros:
- Easy to install
- Looks great
Cons:
- can't use factory iron sights
- over-the-ear hearing protection may not work

Love Feel and Looks This Stock. Really Super For Target Shooting With My Reflex Sight. Just Has a Special Controlled Feel and Positive Grip Feel like Few Other Stocks Have. Quality Is Excellent. I'm Retired Military and Very Picky about All My Guns. This is a Very Affordable Upgrade to Great 22 Rifle.

I purchased a Ruger 10/22 Takedown and an AR style picatinny rail optic mount along with a 2.5 X 7 riflescope. With the factory Ruger stock, I had to look up over the rail to locate the reticle of the scope. I learned of Hogue stock and made the purchase based on other reviews. The stock fit perfectly but did have a little barrel wobble in the forend probably due to not having the ring. I placed a small stick on rubber cushion in the forend and the problem was solved. As for the eye relief and locating the reticle on the optic, problem solved! Each time I bring the rifle up, the scope is spot on.
There were comments about the "stickiness" of the rubber buttstock while putting everything back in the factory bag. I solved this problem with a thin piece of cardboard the approximate width of the bag opening where the buttstock goes in. I simply slide out the cardboard, place the buttstock on it and slide the combination back in.
This is a well made product and a positive upgrade for any Ruger 10/22 Takedown owner who uses optics. As others have stated, the factory iron sights are not usable with this stock installed.
Pros:
- easy assembly
- Well-made.
- Easy target aquisition
- nice balance
Cons:
- cannot use factory sights
Best Used for:
- Target shooting
- hunting small game

First off...Hogue quality just as you would expect. Handles so much better than the OEM stock...nice feel to the grip of the material with the added stability of the thumbhole. Very tight fit and with only two screws, installation could not be easier. Great way to "dress up" your little Plain Jane 10-22.
Pros:
- Qualtiy
- feels solid
- Fits well. Easy installation
Best Used for:
- plinking/small game hunting
