Better Than the Legion Grips IMO
I love my Legion, but the silly medallion has always given me the ick. I work in IT, I’m not a “warrior” in the slightest. I seem to be an odd duck as I’m someone with XL hands, but I absolutely love the E2 grips. The Hogues I’ve always found a little chunky for my liking. When I bought the Legion, I realize the E2s wouldn’t need modification to work with the reduced controls, so I just learned to live with the stock Legion grip. I discovered the Contours recently and after some deliberation, I felt like I would give them a go. I couldn’t be happier with how they feel. The actual contour of th...

G-10 grips
Recently ordered some lack G 10 grips for SIG sour P229.
They’re great. They have the thin profile I was looking for. Nice and grippy.

Perfect balance...
The stock E2 grips were ok. They had a good texture, but their shape was odd. The Hogue's have an equally good texture, but much better shape. There's more of a palm swell on the Hogues where it makes sense. Moreover, they meet in a seamless fashion, no gap or uncomfortable line between the materials (two piece vs stock one piece) when gripping the gun. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade.

Awesome grips
Nice and grippy texture not to ruff. The hogue contour classic grips fit on my sig 229 perfect with no gaps.
Pros:
- Great fit and comfortable
Cons:
- None

High quality grip
I put these on a PD trade in P229. They fit perfectly and totally transformed this gun.

Too fat, misaligned
The grip texture itself was great. I also loved the very slight bobtail, a nice touch for conceal carry. The grip up around the controls and immediately below that where your thumb and trigger finger would wrap around was nice and slim but it bulged out pretty far in the palm swell area and was ultimately too fat for me. That combined with a slight misalignment of the contour lines where the two pieces meet up at the backstrap was enough of an issue for me to return it.
Pros:
- great texture
Cons:
- Too fat near bottom
Would recommend: No
Good, but wanted Grippier
These are made by Hogue which means they're made very well. I tried these out on a P229 Elite for a short while and loved how they fit my hand but for the size and weight of the pistol I wanted something which would stick to my palms a little better. They've since been replaced by the Piranha textured version of the same grip which gets the job done.
If you plan on concealed carry these inverse checkered grips will probably agree with you a lot more than the Piranha, though at that point I would think traditional checkering would have better traction than this inverted style. Still much better than the pre-E2 hard plastic factory grip panels though. On a 1-5 I'd place these around a 2-3 for texturing. Ordered mine in the later part of 2024 and got "Rev A" marked grips.
