Hogue alum grips - Hogue SIG Sauer P226 Handgun Grip Checkered Aluminum - Matte Black Anodized 26170

I bought these grips for a Sig P226 Stainless Steel Elite, made in Jan.2017. While useable out of the box, the grips did not fit well initially. There was a small gap at the bottom rear where the grip panels should meet and also along the lower front of each panel. A small amount of filing inside each panel, where it was obvious the fit was not right, corrected the problem. The fit is now perfect. Since all the reviews I had read on this product had been favorable, I wonder if Sig made a slight change in the dimensions of the new stainless grip, or perhaps the reviews were for the standard, aluminum framed, P229..
