love these grips

by Robert, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on March 24, 2024
I have these grips two of my Sig Sauer P226s and on my Beretta M96, they provide very good firm grip and their profile make the grip profile slightly silmer(less blunky) and they are extremely comfortable and durable!
Pros:
  • very comfortable, firm grip and very durable
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • competition, carry for larger double stack magazine pistols

I love these grips.

These feel and look way better than the stock plastic grips. I put these on a sig p226 navy, perfect fit, I'm glad I sucked it up and spent the money. I have small hands,so these make the feel of the pistol a lot more comfortable.

Get a grip

I love my Sig 226. I hated the grips. I have small hands. Not a good combination with a double stack pistol. I put up with a less than desirable "feel" when shooting for years. I grew tired of that and ordered these grips. The "feel" is much improved. Fit and finish are excellent. I have several Hogue grips. They are always an improvement.

Hogue Alum Grips

by LB, from FL, United States Written on August 6, 2017
I bought these grips for a Sig P226 Stainless Steel Elite, made in Jan.2017. While useable out of the box, the grips did not fit well initially. There was a small gap at the bottom rear where the grip panels should meet and also along the lower front of each panel. A small amount of filing inside each panel, where it was obvious the fit was not right, corrected the problem. The fit is now perfect. Since all the reviews I had read on this product had been favorable, I wonder if Sig made a slight change in the dimensions of the new stainless grip, or perhaps the reviews were for the standard, aluminum framed, P229..

awesome machining

by clitilldee, from NJ, United States Written on February 27, 2017
the machining that went into making this grip is perfect. I would like the checkering to be a little more aggressive, but overall I am happy with the grip. I own many Hogue grips because Hogue make a very good product.

good if expensive

by willywood, from NC, United States Written on November 4, 2016
I had tried several rubber grips, the stock and rubber grips were just a little bit large and blocky. I put these on a p220 and that really slimmed the grip down so I put these on the p226. The difference not as dramatic as the p220 but still significant. they are very well made, good grip and fit perfect.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Expensive

Sig P225 Alumunium Grips

by Karry, from VA, United States Written on March 16, 2016
I bought the hogue aluminum grips from optics planet. Other than the delay getting the item since it was not in stock, I liked the product. It fits perfect on the gun and has an improved feel when shooting. Keep in mind that it would add weight on the grip however it is worth the money in terms of looks and how it feels when shooting the gun.

Hogue Aluminum Grips - Sig 226

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on February 11, 2013
Picked up the extrema grips to replace the well-worn factory plastic. Noticed IMMEDIATE improvement in tactile feel and also slightly slimmed up grip for my medium sized hands. Definitely love the looks/feel -- only downside is they do seem pretty pricey. That being said, doubt I'll ever wear them out.
Pros: Ergonomics -- greatly improved grip
Cons: Price

Hogue SIG Sauer P226 Checkered Aluminum - Matte Black Anodized 26170

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on November 1, 2011
Was looking for a replacement for the "humpbacked" grips on a recently purchased p226 "tacops"- these helped, give a more aggressive gripping surface being checkered aluminum, are LESS arched on the back strap area but could have been less rounded still. Rather high price to buy something to try out and see if MAYBE it will work for you. Don't see why Hogue needs so much on these.
Pros: Better gripping surfaces due to checkering
Cons: High relative cost, could have been a bit less arched on backstrap
