Most Helpful Positive Review Frame fit could be better.
I have this grip on a few other hard kicking revolvers and it works great on them. The full covered back starp area really knocks the felt recoil down on hard kicking magnums and light aluminum revolvers. Grip girth is just slightly larger than a standard OEM S&W Combat MonoGrip. Unfortunately this particular grip does not fit my M610-3 very good. Not as good as the other S&W revolvers I have the same grip on. Maybe this M610-3 frame is a little off spec.. The grip is not loose when the screw is tight but there is some clearance against the top of the backstrap that is not typical on the oth...

Smith & Wesson Round Butt Rubber Tamer Conversion Monogrip

by Forest Worker, from OR, United States Written on April 26, 2022
I live and work in black bear and mountain lion country. When working in the forest, I carry a .44 magnum revolver. Prior to installing the grip, shooting factory .44 magnum rounds in my lightweight Smith & Wesson revolver was punishing. Since I do not reload, I don't have an option of shooting softer recoiling .44 magnum rounds. To avoid a painful experience, I quit shooting factory .44 magnum rounds. I reverted to shooting .44 special rounds in my revolver. After installing the rubber tamer grip, I returned to shooting 240 grain, factory rounds in my revolver. No hand pain with the new grips. Smith & Wesson would be wise to place the Hogue Rubber Tamer Monogrip on their short barrel .44 magnum revolvers.
Pros:
  • effectively dampens felt recoil
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • highly recommend for short barrel magnum caliber revolvers

Perfect for control and comfort

by Michael Morelli, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on December 9, 2021
I bought this to have when shooting heavier weight bullets out of my 44 magnum. This really enables me to get a firm purchase on the pistol as well as control those follow up shots. It is rigid but also very soft and comfortable. It isn’t much larger than my factory grip and can still be easily concealed in a holster.
Pros:
  • Quality & Cost
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Recoil mitigation

Fits like a glove

by Moose, from OR, United States Written on September 19, 2020
Works very well! Easy to exchange each grip on the revolver frame. Overall the grip fits very well to the revolver frame. Directions were helpful to position the grip correctly with the little metal screw anchor. Should be just what I need to reduce felt recoil into my palm with a 44 mag.
Pros:
  • Fit, Appearance, Function, Price
Cons:
  • None

S&W Tammer Grips

by Danny Vanderpool, from CA, United States Written on September 3, 2018
I use these grips om my Smith and Wesson 44 magnums and 357 magnum revolvers to tame down recoil. They fit my hand very well and make it easer to comtrol the magnum rounds. The additional molded rubber at the back of these grips also make it more confortable on your hand because it compleatley covers the frame.
Pros:
  • Great for heavy recoil
Cons:
  • Only fit round butt
Best Used for:
  • all round butt frames
