Absolutely a great idea but the clarity issues needs work. Admittedly not a lot of time behind this yet and still testing all the features.

This is not a negative review but a logical one. This is my first NV purchase. I live in the city and thought having night vision in addition to all my rifle scopes would be cool. But I decided to mount it on my MP5 22lr replica: it will now go onto my AR-15 rethinking after the purchase. The screen at X1 is the size of a half dollar coin if you square the coin. The NV once focused is crisp but meant for 100-150 targets. If you YouTube reviews you will see one thing that gets missed on most reviews is that the cable which attaches to the scope is by magnet and no snap attachment whatsoever which is solely dependent on the magnetic stability of that one part is constantly skipped in all the reviews. I couldn’t get it to sit flush but it did charge the battery. This is right out the box which is a concern for down the road. Contacting Holosun they agreed to send me another cord but you can tell that might not be the case. It just needs a port to snap into. My only concern is connecting it to my laptop and it not being able to read if that’s your fortay it will be your concern too. But other than that a good magnifier is also a necessity if you’re going to be hunting for game. Other than that the unit itself is cherry and works really well good but the red dot can become an eye sore at times. But you get what you paid for.

The Holosun DSR-NV is an incredible piece of engineering. Combines the Red Dot and Night Vision with equal satisfaction. The Night Vision is incredibly
clear, useful and functional. I had to return the first unit for the failure of the Nut holding the unit to the rail. I prepared the Return/Exchange form, shipped boy UPS and had a new unit
returned to me expeditiously. Compliments to Optics Planet and Holosun.

An affordable option. Expect grainy images. You get what you pay for with accessories such as this one. Save your money and buy something worth it.

NV Crystal clear at lower magnification a little grainy at max magnification. Good sight picture. solidly built.

Haven't had a chance to hit the range as of this writing. The red dot and sight picture is crystal clear same with the reticle. Night vision is clear but is a little grainy on max magnification. Very good construction and solidly built. Will add more once I have a chance to hit the range.

I use the NV mode for observation...
Yes it works for target acquisition if need be. Red dot Holosun death donut holds zero and will run off of CR123 batteries. NV will not. For 1K its worth it for a limited capacity not full on high speed NV work. Obviously

Very good optic, the image is crisp and perfect for close quarters and good coupled with a quality magnifier. A bit heavy but it is to be expected for what it is. It’s exactly what I was looking for on my home defense gun. I strongly recommend.

The night vision/green screen menu items are blurry and there is no way to adjust blurriness. It makes the unit almost unusable for me. I have 20-17 vision. I will be filling out a return tomorrow.
