JStarX7's Review of Holosun HE507C-GR-V2 Green Dot Sight

Wow. I am impressed. I've seen the reviews of the V1 of this sight. Sage Dynamics did their drop test and it kept on ticking. Cheap, bullet proof MRD; What more can you ask for?

Well, Holosun decided that a side loading battery compartment would be great. And bigger buttons. And a GREEN reticle. Sold.

This comes in a box with the Holosun wrap around white cardboard. What I did not expect was that the box is plastic, with a brown plastic lid that has padding built in to the underside. This is a nice box. It includes screws for mounting, a pic rail mount, a tool for changing the zero/battery, and the battery. The glass is pretty clear for a $200 optic. There is a tiny bit of image distortion, but not any more than my Sig Romeo 1. The circle/dot reticle is crisp and clear. Actually much clearer than my EOtech, which cost 3x what this did. Did you know this sight features auto-brightness? I did not see that, but it does. The reticle gets brighter or dimmer depending on the light condition you are in. It also has a motion activated feature, so it turns off after 10 minutes and "wakes up" when you move it. I verified this, because my Romeo 1 claims to do that but I have never seen it turn off. (It's been on my table motionless for 6 hours right now, still on.) It's also IPX7 waterproof.

I've not mounted this yet, so I haven't shot with it. However, I am confident it will work well based on the previous generation. This is meant for my P80 Not-A-Glock 20 build, so if it stands up to 10mm I will most likely buy one of these for my M17 and also buy one to repalce my Romeo 1 on my MK25.

  • Bullet Proof
