11BGrunt's Review of Holosun HE508T 2 MOA Dot & 32 MOA Circle Reflex Red Dot Sight

I carry & shoot pretty much nothing but RDS equipped pistols & Carbines now a days, due to my issues with my eyes. I simply can’t shoot irons fast. I own 2 RMR’s 1 SRO, 1 Sig Romeo1 another Romeo 3, several other aimpoint & EOTech optics to name a few for the sake of a true review. I got this unit a while back, ran it as a 45° offset(on an arisaka defense 45° mount) paired with a Sig Tango6T on an 11.5” SBR. Primarily used it for quick target acquisition/transition while on any type of magnification as your FOV will make for a rather narrow field of view(relatively speaking). After running it for a while I realized the “circle dot” makes for a super fast acquisition & wanted to try this reticle on a pistol. So I put it a pistol my 226 TacOps & liked it so much that I got two of the lower(507v2GR) for them.... also picked up its big brother the 510c elite to replace one of my XPS2(not that I chucked the EOTech simply saved it for a different gun).... today I came back to pick on a second one of this in green reticle to replace the 45° just to have a different color for that transition(figured the red one can just go in my next optic ready pistol.

If you’ve read this so far, you can guess I own almost as many of the Holosun’s as all other brands together. Really guys(and gals) if you are looking for one for duty(assuming your department allows this) anything from Holosun would fit the bill, however if it’s for duty specific I’d get the Models that ends with a “T” at the end of Elite as the housing in Titanium & if I’m not mistaken you get a bit better warranty with it.

Bottom line if you can’t afford Trijicon price, this is your benchmark. If you want versatility or are new to RDS(handgun shooter) a Holusun IS where you need to be due to the Circle dot as a training aid.

Lastly I have another on a 590 Shockwave with a brace & Black aces rail & it holds up to that “kicking like a mule” short shotgun just fine.
