Gold is…..well, Golden!!
I don’t know why other manufacturers don’t use gold as another option between red and green. I love the color.. it pops. My target acquisition has become quicker when using this sight. It’s built solid. I’ve bought two more since then.
I really wanted to love this and give it 5 out of 5 stars
So I love Holosun and I've loved every optic I've ever had the opportunity to shoot and I've shot really a lot of em. I'm 100% a green optic person and now go out of my way to try and get green reticles with everything I get. Red isn't bad and it's definitely more popular. Gold I just can't get behind. It's just not a usuable color for where I live. It's not a desert but there's clay and dirt/rock hills and prairie everywhere. Gold just doesn't stand out enough for what I'd use it for. I'll happily acknowledge though that different terrain the color might show up better so it might be

Red-Green Color Blind Friendly
For the guys who are red-green color blind and/or have astigmatism. These Holosun is for you. For so long I thought the red-dots were not really dots but "star-burst" until I found Holosun Gold Dots. Now there is a dot!! Best sight purchase I have ever made.

Excellent AR Pistol or PCC optic
I've used a wide range of red and green dot optics and settled on this gold dot for my latest AR pistol. To my eye the gold dot on this model melds the best of what both red and green dots have to offer. The enclosed design is excellent for protecting the optics and I'm just all around very pleased with this choice for my latest AR. One note is that the auto brightness seems a bit finicky at times, especially indoors where it sometimes seems not quite able to make up its mind what brightness it wants so it cycles over and over between bright-dim every few seconds. Also, if I'm in a dark/shaded area myself the optic will often choose to be dim even if my actual target is in a bright area which makes the reticle harder to see. An option to avoid either issue is to simply switch to manual brightness.
Pros:
- Gold Reticle
Cons:
- Auto brightness can be finicky
Best Used for:
- ARs and PCCs

Gold Dot is money
Bought this site in early 2022. Taken out to the range many times since and have nothing but great training with it. The gold reticle is amazing to use, very bright in sunny and cloudy weather. The reticle is easy to pick up moving from position to position. Highly recommend
Pros:
- Gold Reticle
Cons:
- None
