VoiciMossy's Review of Holosun HM3XT Magnifier
I bought this to use with my Holosun HE510C which I was previously using a much cheaper UTG magnifier with. However, the HM3XT is lighter, crisper in the image and seems to have better light transmission. Also, the flip aside option is much simpler. To engage or disengage it you simply push or pull it in and out of your field of view. On the UTG you had to pull the magnifier back towards you to release it from its index whether to engage or disengage. On the SIG Juliet magnifier I have, you need to depress a button to unlock the magnifier so you can flip it in and out of view.
I have had no issues with the HMX3T flipping in and out of my way without these retention systems. The detent or whatever they use seems sufficient enough.
One tiny gripe is that I wish the magnifier sat just a tad higher. Even with the larger cowitness spacer, it barely clears my backup iron sight. I also cannot open the rear sight with the magnifier engaged. Also, I wish the magnifier had a larger eye relief. You really do have to lean in pretty hard to get a clear sight picture.
All in all, you're getting what you pay for. Usually I feel that with Holosun youre getting a screaming deal but with this, you're paying a premium for what is a very good product. It seems to be a simple, quality built optic and I'm glad I bought it.
