Most Helpful Positive Review Best red dot for G43/43X/48, Hellcat, P365, 365XL, etc...
I've owned at least 8 RMRs (mostly RM06.2s), a DPP, 2 Shields, several Holosun 507/407, and now K=models, etc. My current favorite is the 407K (I have two) and the 507K (I have one). I like that the window has less tint than the RMRs; it does have SOME magnification, but you don't notice it when shooting--only when looking around the house. To me, it appears slightly less magnified than RMRs, but more than Shields (which have none). **Despite the previous reviewer, I think the window looks ALMOST as big as the RMR: yes, it is narrower, but this is the least important dimension really. best micro-dot so far

by BarEnosh, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on October 12, 2020
I have two RomeoZeros. With $50 more, HS407K has a lot more to offer: tactile and precise windage and elevation adjustment, solid body (aluminum vs polymer), robust, and the 6moa dot is crisp and clear. I have compared this to the RMSc (almost 2x more expensive), still preferring the HS407K.
I will buy more HS407K/507K when the X2 versions come out.

Good product

This is a good red dot with an appropriate price. This is made by aluminum case and thick glass. Really much much better than Romeo Zero and Shield RMSC. The reason why I do not leave 10 stars because I can only give 5 stars for this Holosun HS407K

Partially fills a niche but mounting options are few

by Curt, from TX, United States Written on September 22, 2020
4 Stars because I'm willing to try it on my carry gun. 3 Stars would mean I refuse to try it. Overall, quite disappointed.

In design, the Holosun 407k has the cowitness, low profile, and narrow footprint features of Shield Sights along with ruggedness similar to prior Holosun optics, which approaches the ruggedness of the RMR.

In function, the window is smaller than an RMR, it lacks autobrightness, and the cowitness of the rear notch doesn't quite allow a decent view of the front sight (but you can see the top of the front sight, so it's better than nothing)

Mounting solutions are presently very frustrating. It uses a modified version of the Shield Sights footprint. Gun or mounting plate must not have rear lugs, and the front lugs need to be shorter than some of the normal Shield or Leupold lugs. In other words, no guarantee that it will fit your gun. I made it work on mine, but I'm still not sure if I will keep it.
