Cowboy's Review of Holosun HS503BU Micro Red Dot Sight
☆1☆
The front lens comes angled/canted/tilted at the specific angle needed to refract & project back red light emitted from the L.E.D. to your eye. The front lens is engineered to sit at that angle and it works incredibly well. You just don't notice it on some other micro red sights because because they're angled/canted/tilted their front lenses top back. All Micro RDSs front lenses are tilted on purpose, one way or another. ☆2☆
Anywho, I have 2 of these and they're 2 of the best sights that I have and absolutely top tier performance at a budget price (guess who makes the ROMEO 05?)! I have have been putting them through their paces on 9mm semi-auto Submachineguns & rifles chambered in 5.56, 300blk & 6.5mmG. Never had a problem or malfunction. The "SHAKE AWAKE" (MOTAC), motion activation & auto shutoff work flawlessly and it will definitely come on when you need it to be. I trust my life with this optic for home defense. The glass is very clear & the coating is top notch. The reticle settings are perfect. The reticle is super clean & crisp and more than bright enough for sunny Arizona desert days. The forged aluminum housing is definitely tough and the risers/mounts are tough too. I run one with a Daniel Defense 1/3 cowitness riser mount that is obviously built like a tank and the other one with the stock mount. They have both seen the same abuse and the stock mount has kept up for OVER 3 YEARS! ☆3☆ The only things that I have had to do in 3 years is change the batteries once in both and re-tighten the stock mount with Loctite once. These are an incredible value. Absolutely the most Micro RDS for the money $, hands down! These get you into the Aimpoint range of performance at a small fraction of the price. Aimpoint can take abrupt/extreme pressure changes such as skydiving and underwater submissions, they definitely have their place too. I highly recommend Holosun Micro Red Dot Sights to anyone. My 2 Holosuns have been solid!
