Cheap plastic garbage made in China
I've been using a foldable tipton vise for a while and it's been fine, but I like Hoppe's oil and bore cleaner and figured this would be a nicer set up for cleaning. I ordered it months ago and it finally came yesterday and I used it for the first time today and it literally fell apart. The "vise" is a threaded plastic pad, through another piece of plastic, held together by the thinest clips possible and both came flying off. Hoppe's 9 Gun Vise
Impressed with the large size of the unit for stability, the strength of the vices, set-up versatility to accommodate different firearms styles, along with plenty of storage space to hold cleaning supplies for the task at hand.
Would recommend: Yes
To flimsy for any real use
Too flimsy for anything other than extremely light barrel cleaning. Don’t think that this will hold your rifle firmly while you put any kind of pressure on anything. Very cheap plastic construction. You can’t actually tight the rifle in place because its so cheap, when you tightened on one side the other gives way.

Hoopp's 9 Gun vise, grey, hgv
Product was just what i expected to get and on time.
What i wasn't expecting was the packing slip was just slapped to the outside of the box and everyone could see what it was. Now all my neighbors and anyone driving by my building has seen i have a gun vise...hense , now they know there may be guns to steal from my home because it sat on my apartment buildings front steps 40 feet from the road. Very large clearr pictures of its contents for everyone to see. Not very discrete shipping leading to a privacy issue. This may very well prevent further purchases from Optics planet! Thanks!

Not for gunsmithing at all
I absolutely misunderstood what this "vice" was. It definitely should not be called a vice. It is only useful for PLACING (barely even holding) a rifle or firearm on for cleaning. The plastic vices are not strong at all.

The Big Boss
Seem sturdy, are very easy to use . We’re using them in a gun shop so they get a lot of use they make it easy to show AR rifles. They support the pistol grip along with forearm and buttstock ok blah blah blah
