Simple to use
Out of the box this tool was very simple to use and worked as expected. I purchased this for my new Ruger precision 6.5 creedmoor Rifle. Inhave other bolt actionbriflrs that I will use this on so the ability to work with other calibers is a plus for me. I would certainly recommend.
Pros:
- easy to use
- well made
Cons:
- none... yet
Would recommend: Yes
Use with a boresnake on a 17 HMR rifle
Although it has various size tips, it guide will not fit into the receiver. If you try to force it, the tip will become wedged. I got the tip snug so it would stay in place and everything else worked well. You just cannot latch in place where the closed bolt position.
Pros: Provide good feeding without snags in receiver
Cons: Did not properly fit in receiver

Cheap bore guide to get you by
Like most "Universal" tools, this is just something to get you by... don't expect this to work well with all your firearms.
In particular, this will NOT work with Savage bolt-action rimfire rifles. Only one I know of does, and I believe Brownell's carries it.
You're much better off buying bore guides (yes, plural, guideS) made for your specific firearms, like Possum Hollow brand guides. I know that gets expensive, but it's really the only way to go.
Pros: inexpensive, fairly versatile
Cons: Far from the best guide out there

Manufacturing defect
The bore of the large caliber tip was half-blocked by residual plastic from the molding process. I removed this blockage, but the bore is now rough and snags the patches and other cloth cleaning items that I pass through it. Otherwise it seems to be well-made.
