My old 7600 loves this ammo and the deer hate it . I've been using these rounds for years mostly in the mountains of Pa. I tried other brands over the years but, Hornady ammo has worked the best for me.
Hornady Whitetail .270 Winchester 140 grain Ammunition
Ordered 4 boxes of Hornady Whitetail in .270 Winchester, and it is very good hunting ammo, both in terms of accuracy and consistency. It was on sale, so it was a great deal, too. Service was great, delivery was super-fast. OpticsPlanet is a great company, always reliable and customer service is first rate, have been doing business with them for years and always satisfied. Would highly recommend ordering some of this ammo from OpticsPlanet, you can't beat it. I'll be trying some of the 130 grain next.

This ammo came on time and was shipped fast. Very accurate at long range. I used this ammo for hog hunting 190 yards dropped them where they were at.love this ammo

Hornady American Whitetail accuracy
Due to a shortage of other ammunition and the need for a long range alternative, I chose 140 grain Hornady American Whitetail ammo for my .270 Winchesters. South Dakota hunting may, and usually does, require long shots so I wanted ammo that would carry lots of energy out to 300 yards. HAW loads fit the bill and were accurate, shooting a 5/8" group in one .270 and a 7/8" group in the other. I used the 7/8" rifle because the other was knocked off zero by the airlines. The result was a fine whitetail buck at 260 yards.

Out of Reloads? No problem.
Before a trip to hunt whitetail in South Dakota I realized I was low on reloads and needed a load for 2 rifles. Hornady American Whitetail .270, 140 gr were on sale so I gave them a try. One rifle shot 7/8th" and the other 5/8th" at 100 yards. Good to go.

I didn’t know what to expect from this ammunition. I have typically had good results with a variety of Federal cartridges and shotshells in various calibers.
It’s been awhile since I fired my .270 and I decided to give these a try. The rounds didn’t seem any different than most other commercial ammo but they worked well from loading to firing to cycling.
The bullets pattern well with multiple shots touching each other. These aren’t super expensive rounds either.
