Lots of energy transfer and meat damage
These are great took a ram and three hogs out of 16inch barrel ar platform penatrating all the way through a 100lbs hog diagonally on a quartering away shot, the ram hit his far shoulder shattering the bone and scapula into powder bullet exploded to shrapnel lost a 6inch circle of meat to hamburgered to be worth it so I would watch your shot placement carefully if meat hunting, that being said ram turned around took three steps and fell dead all three hogs died where they stood one was a headshot facing me dropped started kicking second round entrance was touching the first hole pretty consistently accurate rounds animals had minimal blood loss externally died from the energy dump not bleeding less than half a cup outside the animal while 6.5 it less effective than the 100grain sp.270win I used to take hogs with it is a adequate replacement so far

- Major bone strike equals large meat damage
- Casings are bit soft very easily damaged in a jam
- Heavy skulled animals no go on head shots such as elk or ram black bear

- Goats
- Rams
- Black bear within 100yards no problem
- Elk within 100yards no problem

6.5 grendel
Less than 1 moa at 100 yds . New acme 18 inch upper for my ar15. I did change to a single stage trigger. Really love the ammo.

Initial thoughts
Shooting these in new upper and probably need more time for barrel to settle in. Hornaday makes top notch ammo and these seem to be no different. Anxious to see how they perform on deer/hogs. If as advertised they may get upgraded to 5 star.

6.5 grendel sst
Tight groups, not going to take them to do match shooting or anything but sub MOA anyhow. have yet to try it hunting but am excited! I’m sure everyone who owns a 6.5 grendel and want to use it for deer hunting will pick up a box of these
