Low Recoil, Cycles, and Accurate .
Given the amount time time I have behind these rounds I would say they One of the best 9mm options for self defense. Multiple reasons beginning with its consistency. These round feed fire and make contact with target through many types of handguns weather it be a single stack micro pistol or a full duty pistol , these rounds function without error. With these rounds having a Flex Tip this allows for better penetration's with the least amount of pre expansion as you will find with most other brand of self defense ammo. When putting trigger time behind theses you will notice the lower recoil witch will help with your follow up shots hitting on more accurately on target. All in all these rounds are great if your looking for self defense 9mm ammuniton.

My favorite home defense round on the market! I’ve been stocking up on them for years. They shoot great and expand beautifully, and Hornady has never let me down. I choose to shoot Hornady rounds in all of my handguns and rifles.

Not nickel plated
These did not come nickel plated. Good carry amok but should of come nickel plate like it was advertised l. I carry the in my p365xl on a daily basis and would of liked the nickel plating when chambering.

This Hornady Critical Defense shells are great.I use this shells sometimes at the range.They shoot good in my sig.I have shot these in several of my guns.

Gold Standard
I wish it was nickel plated again (it used to be), but this is still the gold standard for ccw ammunition as far as I'm concerned.

Hornady’s critical defense is one of the best, if not the best, defensive ammo. Works well, good expansion, no malfunctions. The quality matches the price (although is up there), awesome whenever I can grab a deal on these.
