Security and peace of mind
I'm thankful that I have no experience with this ammo! I bought this on the recommendation of a couple of police officers and also bought them with the hope that they'll never be used. That's an odd review, perhaps, but it's the best I can do!
NJ approved
Wish it was cheaper, but this is the only defense ammo hollow point that's approved to be used in the state of NJ. Hopefully the price comes down sometime in the future.

Hornady Critical Duty 9 mm Luger 135 grain +P is the best choice for use in a Smith & Wesson M&P FPC (folding pistol carbine) and M&P 2.0 full size pistol for home defense and concealed carry use in a Shield Plus. These cartridges are both accurate and very effective. This bullet design passed the FBI protocol tests and has been adopted by many 3 letter government agencies. This is the current state of the art.

Great for PCCs
Purchased at the recommendation of B&T for the APC9k as they do not recommend traditional hollow points. I have run 2 boxes through both my APC and my PTR9K and they have worked flawlessly in both (both are unsuppressed at this time).

Works Well!
Accidental discharge into my thigh. Bullet made an entrance wound about the size of a quarter (maybe a lil larger) in my thigh. The bullet split, smaller part of it went through the other side of my thigh and then the larger projectile went under my knee through my calf. A lot of damage. Seriously a good bullet for self defense!!!

Quality Ammunition
I’ve loaded my SP5 defensive magazines with this ammo as I can trust in Hornady ammo. Hopefully I’ll never need to use it for that purpose, of course. I’ve used Hornady 300gr XTP bullets in my 44 mag reloads and Cain attest to it’s stopping power on deer and big pigs and this experience added to my confidence in choosing Hornady ammo.

Very consistent and hard hitting ammo. Functioned well in my Hellcat Pro. Definitely keeping this ammo on hand for defensive use.

I myself pray also that I never have to use this ammo. It was highly recommend by my to State Troopers friends! With the country in uncertainty and ( people being moved to and not being told WHERE....) I know I can protect MY FAMILY!!! I'm REALLY sad I have to say this!! BUT..THANKYOU HORNADAY for your product!!!!!
