Most Helpful Positive Review Designer / Builder
This unit is accurate. Against a digital unit I preferred this dial style. With my eye I can read the exact span. I.E. ( 0.475" ). Not just show even point measurements. I.E. ( 0.46" or 0.48" ). This dial unit will show a more accurate reading than a digital caliper.

Hornady dial calipers

Have a 30yr old rcbs plastic dial caliper. Because of its age I thought it should be replaced with the hornady dial calipers. What a mistake! Fist time I tried to use to trim cases every time I would check dimensions each measurement was different.cross checked with old rcbs calipers and each case was the same.Hornady calipers keep you second guessing everything. Not good when you are reloading

Hornady dial caliper

Hornaday quality with a low price. Feels well made. Comparing this to an old Central Tool dial caliper, the movement is tight with a very, very slight "notchy-ness". I guess this should be expected with a new caliper and I feel confident it will smooth out with with usage. Dial is clear and easy to read. Comes with a plastic case to store safely. I like the red dial. I did have to reset zero and it repeats to zero. The needle at zero is not precisely at 90 degrees but very close. I am happy with the product and the price and I believe it will work perfectly for reloading.
