simple and effective
The Remington 700 bolt handle is really small and if you want a bigger knob turning it down and threading it seems rather extensive. I slid this Hornady "bolt ball" on there for not much money and no down time with the rifle. Clears the scope just fine. I'm well pleased with it. Works really well.

Bolt Balls make a difference
I was sketical at first so I ordered six bolt balls then after installing them I ordered six more. Makes a big difference on gripping the bolt especially when using gloves. a little WD 40 or silicone will make it easier to install on some of the larger bolt handles like Mossberg Patriot. Used them on Mossberg, Savage and Remington bolts and they work great.
Pros:
- Great grip
Cons:
- somewhat hard to install without lube

Good Buy budget enhancement
The Hornady Bolt Ball is very inexpensive buy to give your rifle bolt a bit more to grab on to. The material is not flimsy and has not cracked or came loose.

Hornady Lock-N-Load bolt ball
Feels good in the cycling of the bolt. Will pick up my rate of cycle. Specially being in gloves all the time. As a predator hunter that cycle needs to come quick.i installed on three Ruger americans. They were all very snug so i dont see them coming off ever.

Big improvement for my Savage Mark II BV 22lr
Thought I'd give this bolt ball a try, glad I did. Makes it much easier to run the bolt. The Savage Mark II bolt handle can't be unscrewed like some other bolt action rifles. This ball slips on easily and stays in place enough that I don't think I'll need to glue it, and it makes up for it's ugliness with how much nicer it feels. Yeah I'd like a nicer looking metal handle but this was cheap and easy so I'm happy with it.
