Pleasantly surprised
For starters, this unit is way thicker and heavier than I expected, which makes me happy. Install was extremely easy, minus the fact that my studs were off so I had to move a stud over an inch, but once they were on 16 on center, this safe slid right into place. I really like that it has so many lag...

Ok build quality, but took shipping damage.
I had to do a bit of work to make the safe usable... The bottom of the door was catching on the safe and I had to add some washers to the bottom hinge to allow the door to open properly. A screw inside holding the cover on the lock mechanism had fallen out during shipping, or was never installed pro...

Very Heavy Duty and High Quality
I haven’t installed it yet but have it unboxed and inspected. It is very heavy duty and appears to be very good quality. It’s so heavy that you’ll probably want two people to install it, maybe even to move it upon delivery. I wish it was a bit taller so I could put more things in it.

Pretty good solid safe.
The Pro's:
The front door is thick enough to resist anyone prying on it. It is basically 3/16 plate steel so not thin sheet metal.
The door opens on a spring with just enough tension so as to not fly open too fast.
The safe is easy to install
It is heavy! A full 66 pounds and it earned every pound of that. This is not a flimsy box.
It is easy to open quickly.
The Con's:
The first unit I received was defective. The electronic lock would try to open the safe, but wouldn't disengage the locking bars far enough for it to open. The bypass key DID work fine however. The defective unit was replaced.
That's about all the bad I have to say about it. I should give credit to Optics Planet for the speed with which they sent the new safe. 2 days after they received my defective unit back, I had the new one in my home. That's pretty quick by any standard.
I would certainly purchase another if I needed one.

Easy to install, program and use
I found the quality of the materials to be substantial and heavy. The unit is well made, with no rough edges or evidence of sloppy assembly. Installation was simple and the instructions explicit and helpful. Dimensions for the cuts were perfect and it fit the first time without modification, although I did add a 2X4 to provide extra support to the bottom. Although no safe is foolproof, I have confidence this would be difficult to penetrate without significant tools and time to open it. Programming it was easy and accomplished on the first try. It has worked flawlessly and even my wife like it to keep her more valuable jewelry items. She likes it because she doesn't have to keep a key and it is readily accessible and even opens with a little push out of the door to improve access. Great product. Wish all my recent purchases had gone so well.
Pros:
- Flat to the wall
- Easy to install with minimum tools or experience
- Easy access with key or keypad
Cons:
- Heavy and may require an extra set of hands to install
Best Used for:
- Security of firearms or semi precious items

Hornady Snap Safe Tall
The first safe I recieved the paint was chipped and the bottom liner was covered in mold. Optics planet took the old one back and sent me a new one. The new one is exactly what I was looking for. Operates great. Only problem was it took 2 weeks for the new one to arrive. It was around Christmas and New Years

Hornady Tall Wall Snapsafe
The safe came packaged nicely. When I opened the box, there were multiple area of chipped paint along the edges of the door. The top pin on the door did not extend far enough into the pivot hole, so I had to add a washers in addition to the plastic washer that is included. Once I figured out why the door wouldn't stay in place, the rest of the install and operation of the unit went well. I would recommend the safe, but not 100 percent happy because of the chipped paint, and the problem with the door pins.

Hornady SnapSafe In Wall Tall
Nice safe , I needed to add a washer to the bottom pivot of the door to make it close smoother, other than that seems fine.
easy to install nice fit and fairly flush could easily put a mirror with some magnets to cover it.
