Most Helpful Positive Review ar410 shot gun
I bought it for fun and for home defense for my family. It shots good and has little kick.
Most Helpful Negative Review Good once broken in.
Plan to spend time cleaning the feed ramp. Plan on running 300-500 rounds through it before it cycles without jamming. After that, it is a blast.

runs good once broken in and tuned correctly. Lack of correct size ammo size.

by KVang, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on March 15, 2026
After a few months of testing and playing with the included two buffer and springs I got it to run and cycle correctly. When I first took it out to the range it ran fine for about 40 rounds then it started jamming and double feeding with the lighter buffer and spring combo. After playing with the ammo and swapping the buffer over to the heavier set, it ran fine. The largest con of this upper is finding the correct .410 ammo that will fit the magazine. I've tried many brand ammo that say they are 2.5" but a lot of them are a bit longer than 2.5" and will not fit the magazine. I found that the American Tactical Imports BBB Buck Shot and Hornady Critical Defense .410 fits the magazine. Overall I feel it's a good product, as long as you are willing to play around with the buffers and spring combos to make it work for you.
Pros:
  • runs good once broken in and tuned correctly
  • drops right on to your mil spec AR 15 lower receiver
Cons:
  • lack of ammo choices that can fit the magazine
  • wish there was more than one magazine supplied
  • takes a bit of figuring out which weight buffer and spring combo to use with your chosen ammo
Best Used for:
  • Home Defense
  • plinking
  • target practice

Very cool.... I love it

by 410 upper, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on January 31, 2026
Installed this on a DPMS lower. Put 10 rounds of ATI 2 1/2" target loads at 1280FPS. Cycled and shot perfect. My only complaint is the finish isn't done well and they left one of the extra buffers out of the box. Regardless I love this upper.
Pros:
  • Works & fits great
Cons:
  • Finish a little rough
  • Missing buffer

Great product

by Anthony, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on December 13, 2025
This .410 is perfect for my son to use for hunting. Ordering was easy and the delivery was quick. The one downside is that it did not come with the picatinny side rails. I don't have a need for them, but if someone is expecting them, you may be upset.
Pros:
  • Easy and efficient for young hunters to learn with. Very light recoil.
Cons:
  • Finding the right ammo can be a pain, but once you do, it's easy to keep track.
Best Used for:
  • Hunting small game/skeet shooting

img .410 upper dont buy it

by gav, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on November 10, 2025
First try didnt cycle a round. The piston system traveled too far and got stuck after first round. I made a shim to limit travel by about an 1/8 inch worked good for about 25 rounds with federal 2 1/2” 1330fps rounds then the ejector rod bent and broke also the collar that pushes rod out got damaged Ive been trying to get replacement parts from from img for a couple weeks no luck they asked for pictures. I sent then no response
Dont waste your time Get a bear creek arsenal .410 upper instead
Pros:
  • none - does not nor will ever work
Cons:
  • None

Fits well, cycles nicely

by Konijn, Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on June 10, 2025
Great fit to my AR family. I have several .410 firearms, but this is my first AR .410. So far I like it.
The only thing to note is the magazine is quite tight and it needs to be pulled out, it doesn’t just drop.

not bad for the price

by Ryan Campbell, Verified Owner from OK, United States Written on May 16, 2025
Heard a lot of negative reviews on this peoduct but it was inexpensive enough that I thought I'd give it a shot. Mine functions perfectly and I haven't had one issue other than the ammo I want to use wont fit. On an ar10 platform you could run whatever you want, but this thing is a blast and a true multi-tool. Birds to squirrels and deer with slugs. Great for home defense as well. And my 70 yr old mother loves it.

1 Round Use

by Rome818, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on January 4, 2025
Followed all the set up directions and got the correct ammo but with the first shot the bolt broke in the chamber rendering the upper useless. I’m hoping for a replacement since the .410 is a great caliber and I’d love to utilize this awesome platform. If this was a fluke and in just got a dud I’ll revise or post a new review but for not I’m out $300 with 1 round fired.
Pros:
  • 10 round magazine
Cons:
  • poor quality
Best Used for:
  • A paper weight
