Most Helpful Positive Review Surprising power and easy use
At first I was a bit skeptical about the light but after 10 minutes out of the box I was sold. It produces a bright and evenly distributed white light that is perfect for just about any possible situation. The LEDs require much less power to run so the battery life is huge on this light and the smal...

Most Helpful Negative Review I have no title
This flashlight is very solidly built and the craftsmanship is very good. But, and this is a very big but, it is not very bright. It has two setting a high and a low. The high setting is barely adequate and the low is worthless. As much as I want to like this flashlight it's too dim to be useful...

Very Well Built, But Obsolete

by JohnJr, from MD, United States Written on January 13, 2016
This flashlight brings back great memories, but it's great build isn't enough to make it a great buy. First, it doesn't take conventional rechargeable batteries, neither 18650 or RCR123A 3.7V. It takes only the standard CR123A and RCR123A 3.0V. Using the standard 3.7V rechargeables will destroy the light. I get around this by buying only the 3.0V, though they're a bit more expensive.

The light also has only two modes, high and low.

If you already have one of these lights, it's worth getting the 3V rechargeable batteries. But if you're looking to buy a light, there are many better lights.
Pros:
  • Dependable
  • High quality
  • Terrific Build
  • Good Flood
Cons:
  • Not waterproof
  • Limited Battery Selection
  • Not Very Bright
  • Poor Runtimes
Best Used for:
  • Home Use
  • Car and Travel

Inova X5 Spotlight Flashlight

by Jack, from GA, United States Written on December 19, 2014
I bought the flashlight as a gift for a paramedic. So after Christmas, and he uses it for awhile I'll let you know. However, out of all the flashlights out there, I chose this one. The price was right, on his job he can have gear go awry very quickly, and needs to be replaced. It seems to produce a lot light for it's size. I like the company. I will be glad to find out how he likes. Deal?

Good UV light for Field Work

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on April 6, 2010
I bought this LED UV FLashlight in order to search for scorpions as part of ecological research in Puerto Rico. The flashlight is small (I can fit two of them in the cell phone pock of my zip-off pants), has good battery life, and does a reasonably good job at illuminating the area. I can detect scorpions, harvestmen and millipedes which fluoresce under black light from a distance of up to 20 feet. The flashlight does put out quite a bit of white light in addition to the UV and that is a mixed blessing/curse. It reduces ones ability to see fluorescing materials but also negates the need to be turning on my headlamp to see where to walk.

One thing I don't like about it is that the batteries it uses are not available as rechargeables and are fairly expensive so I have resorted to bying them in bulk online.

Overall, I am pleased with the flashlight and would recommend it to other people needing to do this type of work. It beats the old days of fluorescent tube UV lights.
Pros: Small, Powerfull, Good Battery Life
Cons: Too much visible light, can't use rechargeable batteries
