I wanted a bluetooth compatible ear pro to use on the range when I'm practicing/training alone.

I like being able to pre-record various range commands and strings of fire then play them to dictate my target engagement. It is also nice to listen to music when you are setting up/breaking down the range.

But you should always retain the ability to hear what is going on around you. I also wanted ear plugs because I dislike using over the ear muffs with rifles and shotguns.

So the Caliber BT seemed to fit that role for me. I ended up finding out several other activities where I like to use them also.

They are great at the gym and while riding my motorcycle. They stay securely but comfortably in my ear thanks to the wide assortment of tips included (make sure to roll and compress the foam before inserting into your ear) and they allow me to listen to music with great quality while still being attuned to the ambient noises of the environment. It is helpful to be able to hear other people in the gym and it is crucial to be able to hear others on the road.

The charge on the plugs and the case lasts for a reasonable amount of time. Easy to use but you do need to make sure the plugs seated properly in the case before closing or they wont charge. The plugs fit comfortably in my ear and dont move, even when removing my helmet.

It is always surprising to me the variety of noise that electronic ear pro will filter out because it is in the "Harmful" range. Crazy to think how often we expose ourselves to those noises.

I only have 2 complaints:
First is that the extra powerful setting for the external mic pickup seems to be on by default and unless you are alone in nature, it tends to be too much. But once you change to the low setting, it is no longer an issue and never switches unintentionally. I wish it was default low setting though.

Second complaint is that the ear plugs have a 2hr auto shutoff. This makes them less than ideal for full day training classes and competitions, but I use a different pair of ear pro for those events and the Caliber BT for everything else.

So for casual use in a variety of settings on the range and off, these are great. If you are looking to invest in a quality pair of electronic ear protection, these are a solid choice.
