Same as a million other castle nuts- put it on the right way, don't cross thread your buffer tube, and it'll do the job! Some people believe in peening the threads in one of the slots of the nut once it's tight, but that will make swapping tubes difficult- not impossible. I prefer to put medium loct...

Most Helpful Negative Review Solid but shiny
This item looks made well enough and it sure does the job, how could it not but unfortunately it is shiny. Because it is glossy black it doesn't match the receiver or buffer tube. Kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. If I could choose again I'd go with something flat black.

buffer tube castle nut

The threading's right, it's head is cut right, it's made out of an appropriate steel and seems to be appropriately coated. There's not a whole lot to say a about a castle nut, other than it really holds some stuff together.

This castle does what it was intended to do. The finish was great. And it holds the buffer well. There really isn’t anything special about a castle nut i guess, so might as well buy the cheapest one.

Workable, milspec castle nut

Solid finish, clean threads, and proper machining for a standard, steel castle nut. My only gripe is that I would like a slightly deeper notch for the staking points so I could get more material into the notches, but that's just me being picky. I was able to stake this easily and likely I'd have to jump on the wrench to break it loose.
