This thing is ridiculous to say the least.. Comes with the most over complicated, out of order instructions I've ever seen. My gas tube hole didn't line up with the gas block to begin with. It doesn't even tell you why you need to tap the gas tube. I'm just guessing the adjustment screw should block the path of the gas tube opening.. not sure. Mine is like 1/8in off.. I have another gas tube coming, see how that lines up.

Bought many gas blocks,, never had to buy additional tools and machine them as part of basic install, of course they leave this out until the end of the install.
Instructions incomplete.
Probably be returning this product,, expected more from JP...
Very annoying, should of stuck with Odin.

This is my second jp enterprise gas block and if I am to build another none 223 AR I will definitely buy another gas block from JP. I have had no issues with these at all. I have used it for a 7.62 x 39 build and also a 204 build. I like these because they clamp together you don't have to grind a flat on your barrel for a set screw. Neither one of my guns have had the gas block move. The 7.62 x 39 has had 1000's of rounds through it and not a bit of problem. That one is a .75 gas block. The 204 hasn't had very many rounds through it and it is a .936 gas block. I would definitely recommend this to anyone building a off caliber AR 15. You will need it to dial in the gas pressure for proper bolt function.

Has a low profile and fits under various hand guards, I used it to fit under a Seekins rail and it worked perfectly. When tapping the gas adjustment hole with the bottoming tap be sure to use a good quality one. My bottoming tap broke off inside the gas hole. I called J.P. and told them what happened and the shipped me a new one free of charge. Even though it wasn't there fault, they still mailed me a new one. Can't ask for better customer support. Now that it's mounted it works great, easy to adjust gas pressure and lock in place with a set screw.

Before you buy just know that you will need a 6-32 h2 bottoming tap. These cost about $5-10 plus shipping and handling. I haven't tapped mine yet and I'm running wide open ( 6.5 Grendel ). I doubt I'll do it anytime soon . I already have a jp polished buffer spring that is stiffer than milspec. JP should include this in the description. I for one would have gone with SA adjustable gas block.

I purchased this adjustable gas block to compliment my DPMS pattern build in 6.5 Creedmoor as I am using the JP Low Mass BCG and captured buffer spring. The block arrived promptly and initial impression was very high quality. For those that are not aware, you will need to purchase a 6-32 bottoming tap for a proper installation of the gas tube adjustment screw, as well as proper threadlocker compound. Other than that JP supplies a torx and allen wrench. Installation is not the easiest just because there are so many more screws compared to a standard set screw block, but again quality is unmatched. Unfortunately this block although low profile, was not low profile enough as the block's 8 clamping screws pressed against my hand guard (SLR Ultra Light 15" MLOK). Since that defeats the purpose of a free float setup, I decided against running this block setup. Unfortunately I installed this block and am unable to return it, but hopefully this will keep others from running into the same problem. Interesting enough, even SLR's Sentry 9 touched the hand guard and I ended up using a Syrac Ordnance as it offered the lowest profile and detent adjustments. Final rating is 4 stars because of slight hand guard compatibility issues, and need for special tools to install. I am confident it would have 5 star performance though.
Cons:
- no detent adjustment
- Needs 6-32 Bottoming Tap
- Some hand guard compatibility issues
