Most Helpful Positive Review 3.5 trigger
A friend of mine bought a Sig 556 AR-15 rifle.the first time at the range he was floored on the hard trigger his rifle he had. so he contacted me to do a Trigger job. after doing a Trigger poundage pull test on his AR and realizing that my 9.0 pound trigger scale didn't read high enough to get the...

Most Helpful Negative Review Weak hammer spring
This kit reduced trigger pull but would not fire some of my reloads. I use Winchester standard small rifle primers. I contacted JP Enterprises and they said I need the "red" hammer spring. I didn't see where Optics Planet offers this spring. I wish I had known this information before I ordered this ...

A little bit too light

by Mr Orange, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on April 3, 2025
I had a light trigger miss in the first 50 shots. I have to say I think this may be too light. I used a standard budget rifle. Maybe that contributed. I also used another brand that has a more crisp feel while still being light. I don’t think I would recommend these for anyone but the person who is looking for the lightest pull possible.
Pros:
  • light pull
Cons:
  • light pull
Best Used for:
  • Precision

Trigger kit

by Alberto Aponte, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on March 28, 2025
I recommend this kit. Dropped about 1 to 1.5 lbs. off trigger pull. Doesn't sound like much but it is. While your there, lightly polish mating surfaces with a dremel cloth attachment in conjunction with polish cream. Don't over due it and don't file or grind metal or you'll ruin the whole thing. Apply good grease and you'll be smiling when done. Oh yeah, you'll have to bob the hammer due to lighter spring or you may get misfires.

Light strikes

by Robert Hall, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on November 29, 2024
This hammer spring did not work on my Palmetto AR and I did not want to bob my hammer. Put the stock spring back in and had no problems.

EASY Fix to a heavy trigger.

by Longfastglass, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on November 6, 2024
Don't have the Fun Tickets to drop on a new trigger? These springs are the fix! I don't use the hammer spring as the strike becomes toooooo light to reliably ignite your primer. Just swapping out the trigger shoe spring is enough to drop your 5+ LB GI trigger down to a 3LB pull. Add a gently polish and you're on your way to a great feeling trigger!!
Pros:
  • Inexpensive
  • Easy
Cons:
  • hammer spring too light
Best Used for:
  • chootin stuff

Excellent Upgrade

by DH Reloading, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on October 1, 2024
You can’t beat this trigger upgrade for the money!! I cant believe how well my mil spec triggers feel after installing these kits. I put a set in a basic factory .223 and 300 BO and cut the group size in half at 100 yards.

JP Enterprises reduced power spring kit for AR15

by Rifleman270, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on July 21, 2024
I cant remember how many of these i have purchased in the last few years, they are superb. with some 600 to 800 grit sticky backed sandpaper attached to a thin flat metal spatula, you can polish the mating surfaces on a Mil/Spec trigger and then when you install these springs and put it all back together with a little Lithium grease, you will have a trigger pull that can rival cartridge triggers in pull weight. I have used several of these spring kits with great results, with most triggers coming in at slightly over 3 lbs. If you have never reworked a Mil/Spec trigger buy the kit and take an online tutorial course, Then go for it, you will be glad you did. Just one small thing, polish to where the surfaces are smooth then stop! your not trying to reshape the trigger, just polish its mating surfaces.

Great bang for the buck

by Tyler, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on April 18, 2024
This made my mil-spec trigger that came in a lower parts kit usable. Before the trigger was probably close to 9 pounds (by feel). I have 2 AR-15s 1 pre-built and another that I just finished building, the pre-built also had a mil-spec but felt nearly half the weight has the one I built. Swapping out the springs with these from JP Enterprises made it not just usable but nice. It is not a clean break if that is what you are looking for it is a bit mushy but the weight was drastically reduced probably close to 4 pounds. For the price it is amazing!
