Slight widening ogf the dovetail required in my case, but fits secure when installed.
Pros:
- Gets a red dot onto a Ruger P series pistol
Cons:
- Slight filing of the dove tail on pistol slide maybe required
Best Used for:
- RUGER P pistol or MII Mk III

Had to be modified to fit G17 gen 5. The slide is not for Holosun.

I experimented installing the JPA-G JPoint Adapter base on a Glock 43 to mount my Optima red dot sight. It worked fine, but I didn't like the base dovetail protruding from the slide. So I milled about .110" off each side to match the G43 slide width. What I didn't do was measure the taper of the dovetail before machining. MY BAD! If I had I would have found that it had .020" of taper from side to side, much more than the .008" of the Trijicon HD rear sight I removed. This clearance between the base and slide dovetails, on the right side of the slide, allowed the base to lift and tilt dramatically to the left. To remove this clearance I inserted two short lengths of .003" brass shim stock between the front and rear slide dovetail surfaces and base dovetail. Problem solved. I've since put a hundred rounds or so rounds through the 43 since mounting the red dot and noticed my accuracy is greatly improved over the Trijicon HDs, particularly at longer distances. Nothing is wrong with the HDs, my 70 year old eyes are the problem. How will it hold up, and maintain zero? Only time will tell. Last week I sent an email to JP Industries expressing my concern with their machining tolerance of the JPA-G base dovetail, and also suggesting they manufacture a base specifically for the G43. No word back yet.
Pros:
- An inexpensive way to mount a red dot sight on your Glock.
Cons:
- I'd expect better machining tolerances with the computer controlled maching centers of today.
- Can't use iron sights.

Although i had send the mount i purchased back because it did not fit the optic I purchased it for, the mount it self is fairly nice and feels like it would have lasted the abuse. Just be sure you read what optic the mount fits.

This is the solution to your red dot mounting problems. This mount is simple, very easy to mount and hold the sight system in perfect alignment.
If you have a red dot and have trouble finding a mount check with these folks

Novak type mount. Perfect fit; press in and secure with set screw. Installed on a Coonan 1911. Use a feeler gauges to insure mount is centered. Very secure mount. Will have to order an adapter for any sight that's not a JPoint.

Honestly this is a top quality base.Everything is great finely built of good materials.I would have like to kept it as it was finer quality than the base I needed to get the the reflex sight I purchased after I had ordered this base,my mistake.Just did not fit.they did not gurantee it would fit every sight out there and unfortunatly it did not fit mine.

I bought this to mount the JPoint circle-dot reflex sight on my Mark III. It does fit - it's not just for the Mark II. Not sure it would fit on the 22/45. You remove the rear sight and slide this one into place.
Be advised, this fits very tight, on mine anyway. I had a gunsmith install it. He filed on it a bit but it is hard anodized aluminum. He then used an aluminum drift to bang it in. He said using anything else (brass, steel) would mar it. He got it centered nicely because zeroing only required a fraction of a turn on the adjustment screws. If you remove the receiver/barrel assembly from the frame to do this, put a piece of tape over the pin that holds the loaded chamber indicator in. That pin falls out easily.
This makes for a nice, clean, low-profile mount of the JPoint sights on these Rugers. Might work on other guns with the same dovetail but it would be a gamble.

The mounting base works great on my Glock 22 Gen 2. I mounted a Redfield Accelerator on top of it. The only problem is with the sighting device now being higher than the sights, I tend to point high. I am thinking of modifying my grip to correct this.
