A great tactical/hunting 1-6 scope
Got my hands on this unit just 2 weeks ago, I would like to comment beside all of the regular Kahles features (light transmission, illumination adjustment) the unbelievable field of view @6x magnification. I would personally use this scope as driven hunt scope, since I am not in any correlation with the tactical/spec ops field.
The only thing is for the same price you can get a fragile Swarovski Z6i, but I personally would choose a tactical version from this Austrian manufacturer.
And the red illumination element in the SI-1 reticle is perfect for hunting purposes.
Pros: filed of view, len...

Kahles K16i 1-6 - GLASS
Great Glass
Feels like it was built for war
SM1 Reticle is very fast because of its Eotechish design
Great review of this scope here

The diopter adjustment has a triangle reference point, when fully seated or bottomed to the ocular tube, that triangle will not line-up with the line on the ocular tube (scope body); when you change the magnification on the diopter until the triangle aligns with the line on the scope body, this is the absolute zero on the diopter scale which is measured by a machine.

Phenomenal Scope- Amazing clarity, brightness, and Quality
I've was looking around for a new 3-gun scope about 6 months ago, and was looking at Swarovski, Leopold, Nightforce, and others. The main competition for this scope is Swarovski, and some research and digging actually shows that Kahles was purchased just a few years ago by Swarovski as they saw them as a company making scopes to their quality standards.. if not surpassing them.
After looking around, I bought this scope and I'm convinced it's the best out there after looking at everything. The red dot is nice and bright during the day, just like you need for closer targets. It zooms nicely and the clarity never fades throughout the zoom range. It truly is an amazing piece of glass to look through, as you would expect for this price.
I could have picked any other scope, but I feel this one is the best out there...

More Scope Than You Need -- But Not More Than You Want
Unless you are a professional 3-gun competitor or a current member of a Special Forces unit, you probably don't *need* the Kahles K16i. It's true that the glass is gorgeous, amazingly clear and bright; that the true 1x of the low end makes it easy to shoot both eyes open; and that for once, "daylight bright" illumination really is genuinely daylight bright. It's also true that this is a tough and rugged optic -- maybe not ACOG or AimPoint tough, but tough enough to handle anything you are likely to do to it. And it's ten ounces lighter than the competing Vortex Razor HD 1-6x24, which is almost half the Razor's total weight. The K16i is a scope for the 1% of shooters, and, like most things for the 1%, you can get 90% of the performance for half the price.
There are some quibbles. The illumination turns off automatically after two hours, but doesn't come back on when the scope is moved again or when the dial is adjusted; you have to turn it all the way off and back on again. And it's a second focal plane scope, although with a 1-6x that's probably not the deal-killer it would be with a higher-magnification optic.
I would in no way discourage you from buying the K16i. It's a fantastic scope that, while not perfect, is excellent in almost every respect. If you can afford it and you want it, buy it, and you'll be very happy with it. But unless you have truly exacting standards for your optics, you don't *need* it. You'll just want it.

pcolashooter
Just a awesome scope. Glass is perfection, more rugged than my Swarovski(great scope as well), but still fairly lightweight. Mounted with a LaRue was a snap. 1X was true. Wide angle, eye relief works as well as red dot at close to intermediate rang. Quick twist to 6X with no change in reticle red dot.If shopping would compare to Swarovski Z6 1-6 EE4-1,Razor HD Gen ll VMR-2( Too heavy for me),Steiner M5Xi 1-5(beautiful,very rugged and expensive.. they all are).. hope this helps
Pros:
- glass lens
- rugged design
Cons:
- None
