the mount it self is good and very sturdy, but its not as low as some other brands. all the instructions and certifications are in russian, so you're going to have to do some research on the detent you will need. I ended up using the rear flat head screw for my saiga. the front allen is used for SVDs.

First of all let me say the construction of this looks pretty sturdy, and the one gun that I mounted it on was quite solid. the rail is very low to the dust cover. However, on the second gun, I mounted it to it would not lock up at all. Also, the top rail is about 1/4 off-center to the right.

I would not call this a great mount out of the box.
Mine was different from the picture, it has black hex screws instead of the silver flat heads shown. The release handle is also the same matte black finish as the rest of the mount.

Unlike how AR parts seem to instantly snap together like legos, AK parts often take a little finesse to fit together.
This mount is no exception. It does not sit perfectly centered over the bore as you might expect, but it is pretty close and generally square otherwise. The one or two millimeters off-center can be easily rectified by, you know, adjusting your optic windage as you would anyway. Perhaps not perfect for your sub-MOA long range build but this is for AK not SVD so -shrug-.
The little pin thing sticking out of the side (rear stop?) snapped off within 10 minutes but I cant really tell if it was supposed to do anything anyway. It has a set screw in the front acting as a front stop, which does work well to get it back to the same position.

The "quick release" is actually slow because the lever needs to be clamped really tight to keep the whole mount from wiggling. So you will need a tool (stick) to pry it off, I cant imagine easily slipping it off, esp. while wearing gloves.
The instructions are in russian and the website they mentions suggest that this mount is made by the company "Arbalet" (crossbow?) and not 'Kalinka.' I also cant find this exact model on this russian site so who knows where this thing actually originated.

Looks to be several cm offset to the left. Wouldn't have a huge effect on shooting but why call it centered if it's clearly not? It seems to be built well besides being off center. One could grind a few mm of metal off the connection between parts to shift it but that shouldn't be necessary

I spent a lot of time comparing mounts in the price range, but ended up going with the M59 low-profile model because of how low it sits on an AK. I mounted this to a PSAK-47 Folder, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. The mount sits just a few millimeters above the dust cover, you can even see the iron sights through it clearly. (Keep in mind the model name, like 59 seems to refer to millimeter height of the mount, measured from the middle of your dovetail. So, mine is 59mm tall, while my dust cover is about 54-56mm range, you can measure your gun to make sure it will fit beforehand).

I mounted my red dot to the mount and can STILL see the iron sights through a tiny slot underneath the red dot! The sight sits low and is well centered, no complaints there. So far, I have put about 150 rounds through the gun with the mount on and no issues. For the last 50 rounds, I would even take off the mount/put it on every ten rounds just to see if the zero shifted, but I have not seen any of that.

Overall, a solid mount made in Belarus (and pretty sure it's made in the BelOMO factory), which will get your optics mounted to a stable platform without spending a ton of money.

Very bad quality! You need a different files and a lot of patience to install this "universal" side mount on AK 47. Its better on spent little more money and get better product . Try to stay away from this "product".......

Fits the standard ak well. It Rides at the same hight as others but it covers alot of the irom sites when no optics are on it. At keast on my Hungarian. It holds zero well when removed and put back on. Weight isn't bad but it is a little heavier than some of the others. Its easy to use and appears ruggedly built. It is not bulky at all and most importantly it looks cool.
