Go with a dead blow! - Kaw Valley Precision Heavy H3 Stainless Steel Buffer

If your rate of fire is creating bolt bounce or even won't run, you MUST run a "dead blow" buffer. These are not the cheap one-piece steel buffers, those are junk, don't waste your time and money. Dead blows usually have three (or two) internal weights consisting of aluminum-steel-tungsten, the combination depends on the desired weight. H3's are usually all tungsten hence the price. In this case brass is used, and at 5.4oz should tame any bounce issues. If rate of fire is your thing, buy an adjustable weight kit, start at 4.7oz and gradually add weight until reliable cycling is reached. The added bonus of reduced recoil and not beating your firearm to death. Is this "the best" buffer available? No. Is it the best H3 buffer under $40 (on sale), most definitely!
