While the overall weight of this may compare to an H3 buffer, it does not have three tungsten weights like a traditional H3 buffer. It does Not prevent bolt bounce like it should. KAW H3 Buffer FRT
Purchased two of these buffers for my frt builds. I read the reviews before purchasing and it seemed like everyone was having good luck with them. They will not run either of my frt AR 15s. The stainless steel body is very nice but instead of tungsten weights they used brass. I don’t think there is enough reciprocating mass to compensate for bolt bounce. I swapped out the buffers with an H2 I already had and both run great. Pretty disappointed I will need to source two more buffers to correct the issues.

great buffer weight for the money
I ordered this for my AR pistol because I’m installing a frt. This weight is made the proper way with the 2 weights inside of the buffer. Most affordable buffer weights are solid one piece construction and don’t work well with frt. after doing some research, I found for the money, the Kaw Valley buffer was a good choice. I purchased the H2 and H3, just waiting for the opportunity to go to the range and try them out.

Just buy an H-3
Do not buy this gimmick. Yes, it has reciprocating weights, and yes it is the weight of an h-3 buffer.
The main problem being the buffer body is heavier than the brass weights! A mil-spec h-1 buffer has significantly more dead blow effect, than this h-3 buffer, which means this buffer is a gimmick.

The additional weight does help with the AR15 locking open correctly instead of catching upon the magazine.
When shooting when feeding from the magazine it should it should help reduce jaming.
