Flash hider???

I bought this device along with the mach linear compensator to replace the PSA flash can that I had on my 10.5 in AR pistol. The flash can threw a horrendous fireball at night, and I was hoping this flash hider end cap would help reduce said fireball. Boy was I wrong.. the fireball was already huge, but this "flash hider" easily made it 3x as bad. So bad that every shot blinded me to the same extent as someone taking your picture with the flash on. Never have I been so disappointed in a muzzle device.
