I have these and you can not wear your normal size with a sock on. I didn't return mine because I bought them just to go out and shovel the walk, but if I had wanted these for the woods I would have had to get them in a 14 instead of 13. 13 fits me in every brand ever btw, but I would need these in 14. FYI, great boots just get the right size.

These boots are comfortable for doing easy chores around outside when it’s cold as well as nice and warm when it’s cold outside or in the shop as well. These boots are very quick and easy to put on and to take off.

Great easy on/off pac boots!
I fully expected these boots to fit poorly and not give enough support or stability but even for my fairly low volume foot and ankle/calf the fit is very good. I might be a bit concerned if I was planning to hike 10 miles in them but for a basic chore boot for snow shoveling, taking the dog for a walk, running to the store or any other none long term hiking activity they are great. I suspect if you did need more stability you could tighten them up nicely if you are low volume like me but it probably is very tight and supportive for those with larger volume feet and legs!
