Fit and function excellent

Kensight DAS adjustable sight fit perfectly with minimal prep. Functionally one of the best adjustable sights around. Optics planet delivery was great and price competitive. Compared to other rear adjustable sights the Kensight is one of the best.

A Difficult Install

Although this is advertised as being a NOVAK compatible sight I found that the angle of the bevel did not match the NOVAK non adjustable sight I was replacing on my Ruger 1911. Several hours of light filing was required before this sight was ready for instillation into the slide. Unfortunately, I damaged the windage adjustment while driving the sight into the slide so I am basically back to a non adjustable rear sight. Your experience may be different than mine. Just don't expect a simple replacement as fitting will most likely be required.

Sights for sights

I have had this sight installed several times before by a different gunsmith with no problems. My local smith had difficulty installing the sights as he said they were not square and he had this problem before. It took some pounding to install and he had to clip the springs that adjust height to make it right. I don't know if it is the smith or the sights but all is not right. I may need to send it off to my gunsmith in Colorado to make it right.
