Will's Review of Kinetic Development Group Modular Receiver Extension, Compatible w/ all 7.62 & 5.56 SCAR Model
I have owned my Scar 16 for over seven years now and I've always struggled with the aesthetics of it. Well, I believe this is the ultimate solution for anyone's ugly duckling.
The ACR buttstock gives a much more clean look to the Scar. Fortunately, the color matches my lower receiver nearly perfectly so it doesn't look out of place.
The MREX rail matches my Magpul furniture as well. Being able to now rest my hand further forward on the rifle is huge. The rail is slimmer than the picatinny rails that usually mount on the Scar which again gives it this nice stream lined look.
On my rifle I have a Vortex QD scope mount with the QD levers on the left side. Personally, I prefer to mount my charging handle on the left side. The angled down KDG charging handle is a little long, but it allows my hand to not get caught up in the QD levers.
As far as the Super Scar trigger... Maybe I was lucky and my factory trigger was much better than most. I feel a slight improvement, but I have been unable to assert if it's $315 of improvement. Luckily the price of this set makes it affordable.
Overall the price is near impossible to beat. Parted out: $275 for the ACR stock, $275 for the MREX MLOK 6.5 rail, $45 for the charging handle, and $315 for the Super Scar trigger. That comes to $910 if you sought out the parts individually. Using a coupon code gets an even greater deal. Unfortunately I had to wait nearly two months for it all to come in, but good things come to those who wait.
Watch the installation videos for all the parts and have fun. You wont regret it!
