Just received my Order of Item FALISDU for my Brazilian Imbel FN FAL. My FAL has metric threads throughout and this item is threaded metric. This metric thread detail was left out of the Optics Planet description. So yes, the item FALISDU is metric.
Anyway, I am amazed with just how fine (tiny) the crosshair wire sight was manufactured. Wow! I love it.
This front sight design does not contain the radial 'teeth' on the underside of the sight flange, so the original sight's detent ring and spring did not work with this FALISDU sight design. Additionally, when installed, this sight's crosshair is a tiny bit higher than the original post front sight and this is why the front sight spring would not work with this FALISDU sight - result was too high after install. Luckily, after removing the original post sight, detent ring, and spring the FALISDU tightened down to the machined base with the sight facing down barrel. Added a tiny bit of Blue Loctite to make sure it is secure.
In closing: My fore sight tells me that my Fusil Automatique Leger is ready to rock ...
