Expert Review

Very cool solution for Red Dots

by Matt S., Gear Expert from IL, United States Written on March 28, 2019
Really glad I gave this product a try.

Started with a dot on my G17 for USPSA and never bothered to put iron sights on it. But when I started carrying a dot gun, I got suppressor height sights for the "worst case" scenario but as a compromise you give up some of the visual real estate that the dot offers.

So even though I was skeptical of these when I first saw them, the concept did make sense. It works for ARs so theoretically it should work for pistols.

Installed them on a G19 with a Holosun 507c. Have 500ish rounds on them so far and they are doing everything they are supposed to do.

Low profile and mostly out of the way when flipped down but they do still offer a little visual feedback which can help with presentation issues especially from unconventional positions.

If needed, you can flip them up and continue to make accurate hits on target, whether close up or at distance. I shot with them at 5yds, 10yds, and 25yds while maintaining acceptable accuracy standards.

I was using a Phlster Floodlight holster and had zero issue drawing or reholstering with the sights flipped up. Not sure if that is true for every holster but in general if your holster has room for suppressor height sights than it seems like these should clear as well.

The detents on these are really nice. Easy to flip up but they don't fold/fall under sustained recoil.

While the price is a bit more than your average blacked out suppressor height sights (and a lot more than running no iron sights) I th...

Most Helpful Positive Review Great backup sights
I have over 5k rounds through my g17 with an rmr and these as a backup. It makes the window huge and sight picture clear. The click between up and down is really nice and I've only had them open on draw a couple times, plus I think it was only the front. While open I could see them getting broken if hit really hard but overall they haven't moved out of true since they've been on.

Killer idea

Put these on a G17 build with an RMR. I love being able to leave them down when using the dot and selectively flip em up only if desired. Be sure to just locktite the front site and you're good to go.

Great idea but not reliable unfortunately

by Benjamin, from FL, United States Written on July 7, 2019
The first time I used it I didn't have time to install the rear sight because I was focusing on sighting in my red dot. When I came back to the range I fired a couple rounds and then looked and realized the front sight came apart and couldn't find the pieces. Also the front sight was loose but ididnt mind. It truly bothers me to write such a review on this very innovative product. The clicks from down to up seemd definit and secure.
Pros:
  • Genius design
Cons:
  • Fell apart
Best Used for:
  • red dots
