Connecting barlow between telescope and DSLR

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on April 29, 2011
This 2x barlow has a threaded top that mates with the T-ring for my Canon T2i DSLR camera. The bottom of the barlow fits into the receptacle on the 1.25 inch visual back of my Celestron NexStar 8SE telescope. The threaded top of this barlow is 1 and 5/8 inches in diameter which matches the inner diameter threads of my T-ring. That enables a connection that eliminates the need for a separate T-adapter. This specialized barlow is the only way I know to connect a barlow lens between a telescope's visual back and a DSLR camera. As a result one can effectively double the focal length of the telescope when using a DSLR.
Pros: T-adapter built into a 2x barlow
Cons: None

How to insert the Konus barlow between my DSLR and my telescope?

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on April 28, 2011
I purchased the Konus 2X Barlow to insert between my DSLR camera and my telescope so that I could increase the effective focal length of my scope. The only way I can figure out how to make the connection requires a two inch cylindrical sleeve having male threads on the outside. As of yet I haven't been able to find where to by this sleeve so I can't use the barlow as I had hoped.
Pros: T-adapter built into a 2x barlow
Cons: Can't figure out how to connect barlow between camera and telescope
