Porters five forces - the threat of substitutes - Konus Tornado 7x50mm Porro Prism Rangefinder Binoculars

These bino's look to be a direct substitute for the Tasco Marine 7x50 bino's which I have two sets of to compare the Konus to. The Konus actually hold a few line more of resolution versus the Tasco, they are lighter than the Tasco and provide a more rigid tripod attachment for glassing for prolong periods of time while hunting. There is no Rubicon coating on the lenses to reduce the amount of glare, which would have been a great feature, but these bino's are literally a fraction of the cost of the Tascos so I can live with it.
Pros: Lighter, than Tasco Marine 7x50, better designed tripod attachment for prolong viewing, excellent eye relief
Cons: carrying case is a much lighter material than the Tasco Marine bino, and no Rubicon coating for glare
