Porters Five Forces - the threat of substitutes
These bino's look to be a direct substitute for the Tasco Marine 7x50 bino's which I have two sets of to compare the Konus to. The Konus actually hold a few line more of resolution versus the Tasco, they are lighter than the Tasco and provide a more rigid tripod attachment for glassing for prolong periods of time while hunting. There is no Rubicon coating on the lenses to reduce the amount of glare, which would have been a great feature, but these bino's are literally a fraction of the cost of the Tascos so I can live with it.

Best Binoculars That I have ever seen!
I bought these binoculars a couple of years ago and right away I noticed that these were special! I have had friends that had binoculars that they thought were very good until they looked through my Konus Tornado Glasses. These are as good or better than the ones we had in the Navy! I now have 2 pair. If you are going to buy a pair of binoculars, this is the one to buy!

I was needing a good pair of binoculars for a long time. I have made purchases from Optics planet a few previous times, so i am a repeat customer. The choice of products is very large and in many catagory's .
I reviewed many before picking the Konus Tornado. I liked the the look of it. I was impressed with the features as compared to other similar binoculars. Best off was the price, for a binocular with these features of rangefinder and more. A significant savings. I also was unaware that it came with a carry case, a nice bonus surprise, when i received it and opened the box. Highly recommended, and also recommend Optics Planit to friends and associated. very pleased !!!

Nice Binoculars
Very nice, easy to focus, comfortable to carry, compass is awesome, good field of vision. plan to use them on the boat, it will be easy to see other boats and hazards in the water with these binoculars.

Konus Tornado 7x50 Military
Quite ok, but it has a worse contrast in lower light conditions in comparison with dome other versions in this price, like Barska 7x50 Waterproof with fully multi coating. But it has good field of view and autofocus is also ok.

they are realy great
it is great but i paid over $250.00 i was in the Alaska cruise NCL 6/25/11 7/3/11,and after this price?? but it is a great Binoculars but for that price just get a better in the internet .
